The Cape Cod Maritime Museum is a nonprofit organization based in Hyannis, Massachusetts, Cape Cod's first museum dedicated to the maritime culture of the area. Our mission includes preserving the rich maritime traditions and history for which Cape Cod and the Islands are famous through our exhibitions, the objects in our collection, public events and educational programs, we strive to enable audiences of all ages to understand and enjoy Cape Cod's maritime culture.

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod, was founded in 1954. Our mission is to encourage and advance understanding of our natural environment through discovery and learning. The museum is housed in a 17,000 square foot building on its own 80-acre site and abutted by 320 acres of town- and Conservation-owned land.

There are two floors of exhibits about the flora and fauna of Cape Cod, including exhibits on whales, indigenous birds, and coastal change, and several aquaria holding different species of crustaceans, mollusks, fish, frogs, turtles and snakes. Several displays are interactive and geared to children. Special, temporary exhibits enhance the permanent collection.

The Museum also has a library and Museum Shop. Three nature trails meander through woodland, salt marsh or on the shore of Cape Cod Bay and guided field walks are offered year round, daily in summer. Lectures and workshops on natural history topics are offered year round, and there are special programs for children, as well as school vacation programs and KidSummer, to engage them in nature.

Outside its boundaries, the Museum leads the popular Wednesday Walks to different locales around the Cape. Trip dates and locations are listed under Calendar on the CCMNH website and on the Museum telephone events line. Lectures and workshops are offered year round adults.
